How Can Lost and Found Pets Help Animal Rescues and Shelters Ring in the New Year?

The answer is by using this blog to remind everyone to donate to shelters and rescues now - and it does not have to be with a personal check.

In the coming days, why not start a tradition of your own by donating to a local animal shelter or rescue? Make it a family event or your own personal cause. Writing a check for that end-of-the-year donation is always welcome, but you can also donate in other (easy) ways. Nearly all shelters and rescues, including bird/parrot rescues, have websites that include a “wish list”. Such “wish lists” generally request quality moist and dry pet food, gently used cloth towels, blankets and sheets (especially this time of year in the colder states), leashes/collars, white paper towels and LOTS OF TOYS – yes, shelters and rescues have a real need for food and TOYS (big and small for dogs, cats and birds) to keep sheltered pets waiting for adoption relaxed, engaged and as comfortable as possible. So, look around your home for the gently used items, extra food items and maybe pick up a new TOY or two – then drive to your local shelter or rescue and feel great about it! Shelters readily welcome these donations and the pets NEED THEM.

As always, we here at Lost and Found Pets America (http://lostandfoundpetsamerica.com/ ) give our most sincere thanks to our website, Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/lostandfoundpetsamerica ) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/#!/findlostpets)  network members who together, are bringing lost and found pets home nationwide! We hope you are having a wonderful holiday season and wish you all the best in the New Year! Thanks again for your support!
