Can A Contest For A Free Nook Color E-Reader with Wi-Fi Help Bring Lost Pets Home?

| Uncategorized | April 15, 2011

We hope so – we’re giving one away. Read on…For those who have been following our site since its launch on April 1, 2011, we offer our sincere thanks. As you know, we are dedicated to helping bring lost pets home, nationwide. Right now, we’re looking for ways to promote the site. Most organizations realize using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other online social networks can reach people who before, were clearly out of reach – especially when advertising budgets are small or non-existent. We’re no exception. The sooner this site gains legs, through the use of social media, the sooner we can all help bring lost pets home. We embrace the amazing good technology offers animal causes. To that point, we know there are pet microchips and GPS collars. We also know important progress is being made to develop reliable GPS microchips for pets. This is beyond great news for pets and those that love them completely.

Ellen, one of our new site friends is a true animal lover and we’re so very grateful for her help. Ellen had the excellent idea that offering a CONTEST has the potential to bring new animal lovers across the country to this site now…and we agree. We decided the prize would be a Free Nook Color E-Reader with Wi-Fi. Why? Because the winner could use it to read their favorite pet magazines, view their favorite pet websites, read pet-related books, check their email for the latest pet cause news, and so on…Of course the e-reader is not limited to pet magazines, websites, books, etc. It has the capacity to store 6,000 books you can buy and download from an online e-book seller like Barnes & Noble, etc. It also stores full-color magazines, newspapers, songs, photo’s while also offering internet access in Wi-Fi spots so you can browse the web and check email. There’s also a variety of “app’s” to choose from if you like to explore and try new things. It’s easy to use and should also appeal to techies who want to store both MP3 audio files and MP 4 video files. This is not an affiliate promotion. This is just us purchasing the e-reader, valued at $249.00, to give away to the first person or organization that: 1) brings 500 animal lovers to our site by midnight EST, Saturday, April 30, 2011 who 2) “Like” the site so that their photo/avatar appears in our Facebook window, on the site. Animal lovers includes individuals, organizations, rescues, vet centers, other advocacy groups, etc. If we have a winner, and we really hope we do, the winner’s first name or organization’s name, will be announced on Monday, May 2, 2011. We truly want new “animal lovers” to “Like” us on Facebook , so please help us with that piece as you decide to ask your friends to visit the site. Rules for the contest can be found on our Facebook Wall . If you’re not a Facebook member, please tell a friend who is on Facebook about this contest! We’ll also be promoting it on Twitter. Our May contest will largely focus on shelters, rescues etc. thanks to some great ideas from our new site friend Kay who runs a very special shelter in Pennsylvania. We’re also very grateful for her ideas; more on that and her special work in May. Thanks very much for your support – lost pets thank you too! Good luck!

What’s Happening with Lost Pets in Japan?

| Uncategorized | April 12, 2011

The answer is, we don’t fully know. We also don’t fully know or comprehend at this point, the human tragedy unfolding in that country. We do know however, the fate of people and their pets is so profoundly linked that this blog entry is dedicated to everyone and all animals in Japan. Our prayers are with them. While this site presently focuses on lost and founds pets in this country, the love we have for animals and the people who call them family knows no single country – we are one.

Weeping Man Reunited With Lost Pet in Japan

We have been following one Twitter user in Japan closely. Please see No Two Animals (NotWoAnimals). Even if you’re not a Twitter user and don’t have a Twitter account, you can still view NotWoAnimals updates throughout the day and night to learn firsthand the scope of what this user is reporting. You can also see response messages from other Twitter users in this country and in other countries. NotWoAnimals is requesting all viewers get connected with and support JEARS (Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue & Support). This organization’s website reflects it is an organization of three combined organizations in Japan, all dedicated to the immediate rescue and help of all animals and lost pets in that country. Also,  Global Animal has compelling pictures like the one included here, showing a lost pet being found and rescued. Our sincere hope is there will be countless pictures like these. Show your support, in whatever form that takes!
